Educational Grant From
Regulatory efforts to monitor pressure ulcer incidences in all healthcare settings and the Medicare payment change for hospital acquired pressure ulcers has focused the national spotlight on pressure ulcer prevention and early identification. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the state of the evidence and to highlight the areas where evidence continues to be lacking.
Program Objectives:
  • Describe the challenges and confusion with accurate identification and diagnosis of pressure ulcers.
  • Discuss recent consensus on unavoidable pressure ulcers in defined populations.
