  On Demand  Annual OSHA Training for Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Clinics, Physician and Dental Offices
This program will address requirements of OSHA training that an Ambulatory Surgery Center, Medical Practice or Dental Practice is required to provide to its staff on an annual basis. The components include Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communications, Work Practice and Engineering Controls, Exposure Control, Workplace Violence, Fire & Electrical Safety.

This program will complement facility specific training including policy, procedure and protocol review regarding OSHA.

The program provides the opportunity to submit questions, take notes, and review supplemental materials and resources. A self assessment follows completion of the program.

Learning Objectives:

On successful completion of this program, the participant should be able to:
  • Review annual OSHA training requirements for ASC's, physician and dental offices including:
    • Bloodborne Pathogens
    • Hazard Communication
    • Work Practice and Engineering Controls: Exits and Electrical
    • Exposure Control: Includes ionizing radiation safety for offices with x-ray equipment
    • Workplace Violence
    • Fire and Electrical Safety
    • Respiratory Protection
    • Hearing Protection/Noise

Dee Morgillo, M.Ed., MT(ASCP), Vice President, Inquisit
  Dee Morgillo is the vice president of Inquisit, the education division of Amerinet. Her responsibilities include the design and development of continuing education programming for healthcare professionals across the continuum of care, staffing project teams to develop educational programs, and recruiting quality instructors with expertise in needed content and presentation skills. Ms. Morgillo holds a master's degree in adult and continuing education, a B.S. degree in medical technology and a certificate in human resource development. Over the past 29 years, Ms. Morgillo has held a variety of positions within the healthcare arena. As a laboratory professional she has held such positions as a serologist/immunologist, diagnostic cellular hematologist, pathology education coordinator and education project manager. In these latter roles, Morgillo coordinated all educational programming to meet federal, state, and professional requirements. Ms. Morgillo is currently involved in several educational initiatives with Amerinet including Learning-On-Demand, Inquisit's web based education service, iQast, Inquisit's web cast service, educational grants continuing education credits, and the enhancement of educational programs for all healthcare professionals. She is a frequent speaker on adult education and continuing education for all healthcare teams.

Holly Hampe, DSc, RN, BSN, MHA, MRM, CPHQ, CPSO, CHSP
  Holly M. Hampe has over twenty-five years of healthcare experience, with an extensive background in patient safety, quality, risk management and regulatory affairs. Her educational background includes RN diploma, PhD Information Systems and Communications, BSN Masters Health Administration and Masters Risk Management. In addition, she has the following certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Patient Safety Officer (CPSO) and Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP). As a register nurse, Ms. Hampe has hospital and home care experience. She also has experience with insurance healthcare cost containment products. Her hospital administration experience includes nursing administration, quality, risk management, patient safety and regulatory affairs. In addition, she has experience with a group purchasing organization in the development of the organization's quality and patient safety program. Currently, she is the Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. Hampe is an adjunct professor at Robert Morris University in the School of Nuclear Medicine Technology & Health Services Administration. Her patient safety initiatives involving Patient Safety Actualization and Patient Safety Huddles were recognized by Press Ganey in June 2006. Ms. Hampe has also worked as a part-time regulatory affairs consultant.
